Job description
Are you an experienced crisis mental health clinician ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced community setting?
You'll be conducting rapid assessments across face-to-face ED presentations, crisis phonelines, and GP or service referrals making independent clinical decisions about whether clients require inpatient admission or can be safely supported in the community.
This is a rotating roster role where you will often be working as the sole clinician on shift.
About you
You're a confident, independent clinician who thrives in high-acuity environments and is comfortable holding risk and making decisions under pressure.
You will also demonstrate:
- Current AHPRA registration with relevant degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy
- Minimum 25 years experience in a Crisis or Acute Community Mental Health team inpatient-only backgrounds will not be considered for this role
- Demonstrated skill in rapid clinical assessment, risk assessment, and crisis intervention
- Confidence working autonomously as the sole clinician, including on rotating rosters (days, evenings, nights, weekends)
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act and associated frameworks
- Dual diagnosis capability and experience with complex, high-risk presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage clients, families, GPs, and community services

- Current registration with a relevant professional association (e.g. AHPRA)
- Evidence of healthcare worker immunisation failure to provide satisfactory evidence prior to commencement may affect ongoing employment
- Current driver's licence
