With an upcoming forward estimates cycle, the team is particularly interested in someone with experience across FRAMES and/or former Tridata who can hit the ground running, while sharing their knowledge and strengthening capability across the broader Finance team.

YOUR NEW ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll take a lead role across external budgeting, forward estimates, forecasting and management reporting, while remaining hands-on across month-end and broader management accounting activities.

A key focus of the position will be bringing strong external budgeting expertise into the team and helping to further develop its processes and internal capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Queensland Government external budgeting processes, including working with FRAMES and/or former Tridata.
  • Maintain financial and budget models aligned with approved funding and organisational priorities.

  • Provide advice on financial governance and relevant Queensland Government financial management requirements.
  • Maintain and improve budgeting tools, reporting structures, financial models and data integrity.
  • Support the ongoing optimisation of TechnologyOne and associated finance processes.
  • Share specialist knowledge and help upskill the existing Finance team across external budgeting and forward estimates.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and priority finance projects.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Strong experience in a senior management accounting position.
  • Demonstrated experience across Queensland State Government external budgeting and forward estimates.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and management reporting capability.
  • Confidence working across both strategic budgeting activities and hands-on month-end / BAU management accounting.
  • Strong financial systems capability.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver within tight timeframes.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  • Experience using FRAMES and the former Tridata.
  • Experience with TechnologyOne and advanced Excel skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
  • CPA, CA or equivalent professional membership.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
  • 6-month contract, providing continuity across the end-of-year period.
  • $88.29–$94.59 per hour + superannuation.
  • 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Flexible working arrangements, with up to two days working from home per week, negotiable.
  • Free onsite parking
  • Opportunity to bring specialist expertise into a team where your external budgeting and forward estimates knowledge is genuinely needed and valued.
