Legal Assistants review court records from various counties throughout the state to determine whether proposed substantiated allegations were adjudicated or dismissed prior to adjudication.
Based on their findings, Legal Assistants communicate with field staff to identify and obtain the documentation needed to support proposed substantiated allegations. Once allegations are processed, Legal Assistants apply the Central Registry Tier System to ensure each allegation is assigned to the appropriate tier.
In addition, Legal Assistants conduct research and review approximately 173,000 existing substantiated allegations to verify and assign the applicable tier designation.
Key Responsibilities

Review court records and legal documents for accuracy and completeness.

Determine whether allegations were adjudicated or dismissed prior to adjudication.

Communicate with field staff to request supporting documentation.

Analyze case information and apply the appropriate Central Registry tier designation.

Research and review existing substantiated allegations to ensure proper classification.

Maintain accurate records while handling confidential and sensitive information.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Manage multiple cases and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
