Blacktown City Council is seeking temporary Workshop Trades Assistants to support the maintenance of Council vehicles, plant and equipment at the Rooty Hill Depot.

Key details:
  • Council: Blacktown City Council
  • Location: Rooty Hill
  • Rate: $44.90 per hour + super
  • Dates: ASAP Start – 26 February 2027
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
  • Engagement: Casual
About the role:
  • Support trades personnel with repair and maintenance activities
  • Assist with heavy vehicle and plant tyre removal and fitting
  • Carry out greasing, washing and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
  • Safely operate vehicles, plant and workshop equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workshop floor and equipment
  • Assist in the tyre bay when required
What you’ll need:
  • HR licence – essential
  • Experience removing and fitting wheels and tyres on heavy plant and vehicles
  • Heavy plant or vehicle maintenance experience
  • Forklift ticket – desirable
This is a hands-on workshop opportunity suited to someone with experience around heavy vehicles, plant, tyres or mechanical maintenance.
