The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a   CNC Machinist to work at a company located in the Grass Lake, MI area!

Job Title: CNC Machinist 
 
Job Location: Grass Lake, MI
 
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $18/hr+ (Higher payrate based on experience)
 
Second Shift: 2:30pm-12:30am or 3:30pm-1:30am, Monday through Saturday (Hours may vary; Sundays as needed)
 
Job Description: We're looking for experienced Machinists who are ready to put their skills to work on large-scale, complex machining projects. This is not a production machining environment—every day brings new challenges, requiring precision, problem-solving, and technical expertise. Ideal candidates will have experience with 5-axis machining, large automotive die components, and controller-based programming. If you enjoy tackling unique setups, and seeing the direct impact of your craftsmanship, this could be the opportunity for you.
                                    
Responsibilities:
 
  1. Operate and program large CNC milling machines
  2. Perform machining of large die components
  3. Program at the machine controller and make necessary adjustments
  4. Read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications
  5. Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
  6. Maintain quality and accuracy throughout the machining process
  7. Follow all safety and production standards
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 4 years of machining experience preferred
  2. Required experience with 5-axis machining (3+2 axis experience is a must)
  3. Experience machining large dies or large fabricated components
  4. Knowledge of G-code programming and controller-based programming
  5. Experience with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controllers
  6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  7. Experience with large mills (4-12 meters or larger) required
  8. Experience with Parpas, Mitsubishi, Mechoff, Pratt, YCM, or Okuma machines is highly preferred
  9. SMIRT programming experience is a plus
  10. Defense or large fabrication machining experience is a plus
  11. Must possess personal tools appropriate for the role (to a reasonable degree)
  12. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  13. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  14. Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings
