The Opportunity
Gi Group Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Senior BIM Co-Ordinator / BIM Lead to join a high-performing project and operations team based in Dublin.
Our client is a leading construction organisation operating across Ireland, the UK and Northern Europe, with extensive experience delivering complex projects within Critical Environments, including Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High Value Manufacturing and Critical Logistics.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BIM professional to join an organisation delivering high-profile projects for major blue-chip clients, working within a technically demanding and progressive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with commercial teams, Contracts Managers, clients, design teams and Project Directors, playing a key role in maintaining BIM standards and ensuring project deliverables meet both internal and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the BIM Manager to ensure project BIM workflows, processes and deliverables meet the required standards and client expectations.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of accurate BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), ensuring project-specific quality standards are clearly established and maintained.
- Produce detailed and accurate 3D BIM models in accordance with individual project requirements.
- Ensure BIM models and workflows remain aligned with the standards, objectives and requirements established within the BIM Execution Plan.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, contractors and other project disciplines.
- Develop and maintain BIM modelling content, including the creation and setup of Revit families and project templates.
- Develop construction drawings and extract relevant information and data from BIM models.
- Maintain and administer the project's Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Ensure the CDE is suitably configured and managed to support compliance with relevant ISO standards.
- Implement and enforce BIM Execution Plans, Standard Methods and Procedures (SMPs) and agreed BIM protocols within the CDE.
- Carry out model audits and conformity checks on Revit models.
- Manage and coordinate clash detection processes on federated models using Navisworks.
- Monitor the implementation and ongoing compliance of BIM Execution Plans throughout projects.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants and design teams to establish and agree BIM objectives and requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the wider BIM team to support the continuous development of BIM knowledge, standards and capabilities across the organisation.
- Promote the effective use of digital technologies and innovative BIM practices throughout construction projects.
Candidate Requirements
- A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Building Information Modelling, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant BIM or digital construction role.
- Strong practical experience using Revit and Navisworks.
- Excellent knowledge of Revit Architecture, with some knowledge of MEP and Structural disciplines.
- An understanding of Dynamo would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience working for a main contractor within construction, build or fit-out would be highly beneficial.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of ISO 19650.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- An understanding of BIM procedures, protocols and data management software.
- A solid understanding of construction methodologies and the sequencing of works on site.
- A genuine interest in digitalising traditional construction processes and using innovative technology to improve project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and disciplines.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
- The ability to exercise sound judgement and remain patient and flexible when working under pressure.
