Senior Accountant

About the Role

Join a globally recognised engineering and industrial services organisation supporting the energy, mining, utilities and infrastructure sectors across Australia and internationally.

As the Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while supporting business performance through accurate financial analysis, budgeting and compliance. Based in Balcatta, you'll work closely with operational leaders and senior finance stakeholders, providing commercial insights and helping drive informed decision-making within a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts and variance analysis.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful commercial insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.
• Assist with statutory reporting, external audits and tax compliance requirements.
• Monitor project and operational costs, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with operational managers to support financial decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvements to financial processes, reporting and systems.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership.

About You

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant or Management Accountant.
• Strong experience preparing financial reports, month-end close and reconciliations.
• Demonstrated budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis capability.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and financial compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
• Experience within engineering, mining, manufacturing, industrial services or project-based environments will be highly regarded.
