Our client is a trusted NZ-owned and operated interiors and construction company with over two decades of experience delivering high-quality commercial interior fitouts, construction, refurbishment, and more.
They work across corporate, retail, hospitality, and government sectors, partnering with well-established consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time, on budget, and built to brief. Their reputation is built on sharp thinking, solid delivery, and long-term relationships.
They're now looking for an experienced Fitout Site Manager to join their team and help drive projects from start to finish.
About the Role
As Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of commercial interior fitout, construction, and seismic upgrade projects across Auckland. You'll take ownership of site operations, coordinating trades, managing programme and quality, and ensuring every project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with Project Managers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to keep things moving, even when projects get complex. You'll be the driving force on site, solving problems head-on and keeping delivery steady from start to finish.

- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and trades on site
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards
- Run site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily pre-start meetings
- Champion health and safety and ensure all site activities comply with NZ regulations and company H&S policies
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and construction programmes
- Monitor progress against programme and report to Project Managers and clients
- Manage site documentation, including daily diaries, site reports, and QA records
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Proactively identify and resolve site issues before they impact delivery
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial interior fitout and/or construction projects
- Strong understanding of NZ building codes, construction methodology, and H&S legislation
- Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors on live sites
- Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to get the best out of a team
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Trade qualification or relevant construction qualification preferred
- Site Safe certification (or equivalent) and a clean full driver's licence
- A practical, no-fuss approach and a real pride in delivering quality work
What's on Offer
- Annual salary range of $120,000 - $130,000 depending on experience
- Opportunity to work on a diverse range of award-winning commercial projects
- Supportive team culture with a company that backs its people
- Long-term career development opportunities
- Work with well-established clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- A company that values sharp thinking, solid delivery, and relationships built on trust
