Contracts Administrator

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Position Summary

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for administering contracts of moderate scope and complexity to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled while supporting the aftermarket products business. This role manages the front-end contract intake process, develops proposals, negotiates contract terms, monitors contract performance, and serves as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the contract lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience supporting government or military contracts, strong communication skills, and the ability to proactively engage customers with contract updates and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer customer contracts by reviewing purchase orders, contract requirements, pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and other contractual provisions.
  • Support the front-end intake process for aftermarket products.
  • Develop technically and commercially compliant proposal packages.
  • Prepare and submit responses to customer requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather pricing, delivery schedules, cost estimates, and technical information.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms, and contract conditions within established authority.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor contract financial performance and delivery status.
  • Identify when contract amendments or extensions are required.
  • Determine when customer-requested changes fall outside the original scope of work.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims and contract-related issues.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned contracts and provide regular updates.
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations.
  • Support export compliance activities as required.
  • Maintain contract documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Apply continuous improvement and lean principles to contract administration processes.
  • Stay current on contract management best practices and industry regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of contract administration experience.
  • Experience supporting government or military contracts preferred.
  • Strong customer communication skills with the ability to proactively contact customers regarding contract status and updates.
  • Knowledge of contract administration principles and government procurement practices.
  • Ability to interpret contract terms, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Experience reviewing purchase orders, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contract Management certification (NCMA or equivalent), or currently pursuing certification.
  • Experience supporting aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of export compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
