An established and highly respected multidisciplinary consulting engineering practice is seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to take ownership of its civil engineering service offering and drive its next phase of growth.

This is a rare opportunity for a technically strong civil engineer who enjoys both hands-on project delivery and building high-performing teams. You'll play a key role in expanding an already successful business by delivering quality civil design solutions while developing and mentoring a team of engineers and designers around you.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the civil engineering function, managing project delivery, and growing a team capable of servicing an increasing pipeline of work.

The majority of projects will complement the firm's existing structural and building-focused services, providing opportunities to work on a diverse range of commercial, industrial, educational, community, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through to construction.
• Undertake and review detailed civil designs.
• Build, mentor, and manage a growing civil engineering team.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, architects, developers, and project stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, programmes and deliverables.
• Contribute to business growth through technical leadership and client engagement.
• Ensure designs are compliant with relevant Australian standards and authority requirements.

Technical Expertise Required

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the design and delivery of:

• Stormwater drainage systems
• Car park design
• Earthworks and site grading
• Roads and pavements
• Civil infrastructure associated with building developments

Strong proficiency in one or more of the following software packages is highly desirable:

• Civil 3D
• 12d
• OSD4
• Civil Site Design
• AutoCAD

• Degree-qualified Civil Engineer.
• Extensive experience within a local consulting engineering environment.
• Demonstrated capability in delivering civil designs across a range of development projects.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially aware with a client-focused approach.
• Ambitious and motivated to play a significant role in the growth of a business.
