Quantity Surveyor

With many large landmark commercial developments this company is now seeking an additional Commercial Quantity Surveyor.  The company is a national business with a reputation of delivering key projects throughout NZ, they are exceptionally well positioned within the local and regional and national markets.
  
Your responsibilities will include:

• Actively work with commercial financial reporting to finalise project budgets for distribution and sign off.
• Assist in preparing final budgets for issue to relevant section Project Managers
• Advise of any risks that originate from the design to cost process.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes.
• Manage commercial risk during the construction project and liaise with Contract Manager and Project Managers.
• Monitors variations and job costs to ensure contracts are kept within budget, meet time constraints and quality standards

The ideal candidate will have:

• Current NZ work rights
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant commercial construction experience
• A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Will be confident and effective at communicating to senior management, consultants, sub-contractors and clients
• Proven ability to interpret relevant legislation/code and its application on the project to prevent potential business exposure
• Extensive Knowledge of project management structure, plans and implications for contract and commercial accountabilities
• Extensive Knowledge of the tender (methodology, costings and constraints), contractual agreement, claim and dispute management
• Advanced skills in procedures for project contract administration, general business administration and project management
