Production Manager - Days

39 hrs per week, working days (flexible start/finish times) and half day Friday - Lots of Overtime Available!

This is an opportunity to join a market-leading precision manufacturing business that supplies mission-critical components to globally recognised customers across the aerospace, defence and advanced engineering sectors. Known for its engineering excellence, commitment to quality and investment in modern manufacturing, the company continues to grow and develop its operations across the UK. As part of this ongoing success, they are looking to appoint a Production Manager to lead a team of approximately 30 employees within a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting into senior operations leadership, you will take ownership of daily manufacturing performance, ensuring targets for safety, quality, delivery and productivity are consistently achieved. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a visible presence on the shop floor, supporting, coaching and developing your team while driving operational excellence across the department.

Working closely with planning, engineering and quality functions, you will oversee production activities, manage resource allocation and help deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key areas of responsibility for the Production Manager will include:

• Leading and motivating a team of around 30 employees across a shift-based manufacturing operation.
• Driving performance across safety, quality, delivery and productivity measures.
• Managing production schedules and workflow to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
• Developing team capability through coaching, training and performance management.
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to improve operational performance.
• Supporting problem-solving activities and driving corrective actions to address manufacturing and quality issues.
• Maintaining a safe, organised and compliant production environment.
• Working collaboratively with engineering, planning, quality and wider operational teams to achieve business objectives.

About the ideal Production Manager

We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience leading teams within a manufacturing or production environment, particularly those operating within regulated industries where quality, compliance and customer expectations are critical.

You may currently be a Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, Operations Supervisor or Team Leader looking for your next challenge. Most importantly, you will be a strong people manager who can engage teams, drive performance and create a positive, accountable working culture.
