Job Title

Infrastructure Engineer

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a high-ownership, autonomous Infrastructure Engineer to lead the hardening, scaling, and automation of their core cloud architecture. Joining a lean, execution-oriented team, you will collaborate directly with engineering leadership to eliminate operational overhead, elevate system reliability, and build resilient infrastructure capable of handling intensive production loads. This is an ideal role for an engineer who thrives in low-process environments and wants full ownership of end-to-end system stability.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Environment Ownership: Oversee and optimize globally distributed cloud environments, front-to-back services, database layers, and third-party integrations.

  • Automation & IaC: Architect reproducible environments and deployment workflows using infrastructure-as-code paradigms, structured configuration management, and robust CI/CD pipelines featuring automated rollback and post-release monitoring.

  • Observability & Monitoring: Design and implement comprehensive logging, metrics, alerting, and monitoring frameworks to guarantee high uptime, data correctness, and low latency across the technical stack.

  • Security & Traffic Management: Secure edge and cloud networks by managing CDN layouts, WAF rules, DDoS defenses, zero-trust network access, secrets lifecycle, and server hardening.

  • Operational Discipline: Establish on-call runbooks, structured incident response protocols, and automated internal tools to boost developer velocity and overall system resilience.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) managing highly available, production-critical environments.

  • Systems & Networking Mastery: Deep Linux internals knowledge paired with a strong grasp of web infrastructure, including secure traffic routing, load balancing, DNS, and TLS management.

  • Tooling & Code: Proven production experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management automation tools (such as Terraform and Ansible).

  • Observability Frameworks: Hands-on experience with modern data-gathering and visualization platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or time-series/columnar database logging).

  • Database Operations: Competence in data infrastructure health, including connection pooling, replication models, and structural query performance.

  • Communication & Mindset: Exceptional technical writing skills for creating runtime documentation, alongside a self-driven mentality that thrives with high autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background supporting low-latency, real-time, or high-throughput API environments.

  • Familiarity with financial tech platforms or high-performance transaction processing architectures.

  • Hands-on experience scaling data layers (like PostgreSQL) or containerized microservices built in modern, typed systems languages (such as Rust).

  • Familiarity with distributed validator nodes, ledger systems, or decentralized web infrastructure.
