Senior Mechanical Engineer

Vivid Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, multi-discipline consultancy that’s known for its grounded, no-fuss approach to engineering. With offices across Australia and a strong track record in delivering practical, buildable designs, they’ve built a reputation for quality work and long-term client relationships across sectors like education, health, commercial, retail, and mixed-use.

Right now, they’re looking to bring on a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Brisbane office—someone confident in HVAC design who can take ownership of projects, liaise with clients, and collaborate across disciplines. It’s an on-site role with solid drafting support and a strong pipeline of projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Deliver mechanical (HVAC) designs for a range of building projects—Olympic, health, education, commercial, etc.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, and internal disciplines to ensure cohesive, high-quality outcomes
• Run projects independently, but also contribute as part of a close-knit mechanical team
• Attend site visits, support construction teams, and respond to RFIs where needed
• Support and mentor junior engineers and drafters

What They’re Looking For:

• 5+ years’ experience in mechanical building services design (consultancy background)
• Solid understanding of Australian Standards, NCC, and industry best practice
• Comfortable running jobs and fronting client conversations when needed
• Proficiency in mechanical design software and documentation processes
• RPEQ or working toward it (preferred)
• Must be Brisbane-based or willing to relocate; this is not a remote role
