Apply directOur client is a well-established civil contractor specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering complex pipeline construction, rehabilitation and maintenance works across Western Australia. They provide end-to-end solutions across design, construction and project delivery, working on live water networks using advanced methodologies that minimise disruption to critical infrastructure and communities. With a strong presence across both metro Perth and regional WA, they partner with Tier 1 clients to deliver high-quality, technically challenging projects across pipelines, utilities and broader civil works.
The Role
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Civil Estimator to support tendering and pre-contract activities.
This is a hands-on role where you will be involved across the full estimating lifecycle - not just pricing, but also methodology development, programming and submission documentation. You’ll work closely with an experienced team, contributing to tenders across civil, water and pipeline projects.
This role is ideal for someone with a mixture of estimating and on-site engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of cost estimates, take-offs and pricing for civil and pipeline works
- Benchmarking and reviewing rates using historical data
- Development of methodologies and construction programs
- Supporting end-to-end tender submissions and documentation
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and scope inputs
- Assisting in identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering options
About You
- 3-5 years’ post-graduate experience in civil construction
- On-site experience/background in civil site engineering is highly regarded
- Exposure to estimating or tendering
- Strong understanding of how projects are built (particularly pipelines, utilities or water infrastructure)
- Experience with take-offs, BOQs and pricing methodologies
- High attention to detail and willingness to get involved in the full tender process (including documentation)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
