Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Kigali, Rwanda (with work travel as required)

THE OPPORTUNITY
Uzima Chicken Rwanda, the leading distributor of high-quality, dual purpose day-old chicks in East Africa. They aim to transform the poultry industry in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda providing smallholder farmers with robust, disease resistant birds that can thrive in local, rural conditions.
They are in search of an exceptional Finance Manager to fire up and lead the team in the day-to-day finance operations. The Finance Manager will be under the leadership of the Group CFO and work alongside the country MD. The position will also include the ownership of all Rwanda portfolio companies, and support for the group international holding companies when needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
As someone who will oversee the day-to-day financial activities, you will be in-charge of recording, adjusting, reconciling, and reporting all financial information. You will oversee and manage every aspect of Uzima Chicken Rwanda’s finance department including Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Treasury, Financial Controls, and Reporting.
You should have a strong experience in Financial Management, Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, Financial Reporting, Stakeholder Management, as well as Office Administration. Uzima Chicken Rwanda is also looking for someone with effective skills in Leadership, Coaching and Development.

YOUR EXPERTISE
Minimum education/qualification/experience
- A degree in Accountancy, and Finance related courses.
- Preferably ACCA or CPA qualified.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance, with ideally 2+ years in a management position.
- Experience working in the manufacturing industry is a plus!
Leadership and behavioural
- Excellent communication skills.
- Having an international approach and being able to work with different cultures, understands cultural delicacies and sensitivities.
- Experience working in East, West or Southern Africa
- A leader who inspires the team, a critical thinker, at the same time, willing to offer a helping hand even in mundane tasks.
Functional and technical
- Experience in financial management, understand reporting standards.
- Experience creating and implementing policies and procedures.
- Understand tax rules and regulations.
- Fluent in English writing and speaking (Mandatory).
- Proficiency in French is a plus!
