Responsibilities

As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will:

  • Lead and manage Environmental Impact Assessments, including EIA screening, scoping reports, environmental constraints studies, Environmental Statements, and management plans.
  • Provide expert EIA advice to clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate environmental specialists and ensure EIA compliance with legislation and best practices.
  • Oversee technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety standards across projects.
  • Build strong client relationships and support work-winning opportunities in EIA and environmental assessment.
  • Contribute to strategic bids and proposals focused on EIA delivery.
  • Mentor junior consultants, enhancing their EIA and environmental assessment expertise.
  • Drive innovation in Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA methods.
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant environmental discipline, with a strong understanding of EIA processes.
  • Chartered Environmentalist status or evidence of working towards it, with full membership of IEMA or a similar professional body.
  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating environmental assessments across a variety of projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with commercial and risk management, forecasting, and quality assurance.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail in report writing.
  • A commitment to promoting health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.
  • Experience in work-winning activities, including bid preparation and client engagement.

Day-to-Day

Your typical day might include:

  • Collaborating with clients and project teams to provide environmental advice and support.
  • Managing the delivery of environmental assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Reviewing and contributing to technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Leading project meetings and coordinating inputs from diverse environmental specialists.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in EIA processes.
