As Senior Consultant Psychiatrist and Head of Unit, you will:
- Provide senior clinical leadership within the Adult Service
- Lead and manage medical staff, both senior and junior, within your allocated unit
- Drive patient-centred, rights-based and evidence-informed care
- Contribute to policy and process development
- Monitor service performance and promote continuous improvement
- Support the growth of innovative and connected models of care
This role is suited to a psychiatrist who combines strong clinical expertise with confident leadership and a clear commitment to improving systems of care.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP)
- Registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022
- Relevant specialist psychiatric experience
- Proven clinical management experience
- Strong understanding of contemporary, evidence-based practice
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of patient safety and quality review processes
- Interest and capability in teaching and supervision
- Interest in research and service development
