In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing while working closely with a payroll specialist and wider finance team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting staff with payroll-related queries in a responsive and service-focused manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations, and pay changes
- Review timesheets and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant awards, policies, and legislative requirements
- Process superannuation, PAYG, workers compensation, and other payroll obligations
- Calculate and process back pays, pay increases, and termination payments
- Support end-of-year payroll processes and reporting requirements
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely, clear, and professional manner
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
About You
- Proven experience in payroll administration, ideally in a high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and relevant legislation
- Experience with payroll systems (Aurion highly regarded, but not essential)
- Exposure to SCHADS Award or Nursing/Healthcare Awards is highly desirable
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data processing
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise effectively in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills and a helpful, service-oriented approach
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and improve processes
