ABOUT OUR CLENT
  
Our client is a Victorian-based organisation operating within the education sector that delivers services and platforms across a complex statewide stakeholder environment.
  
The organisation is undertaking a major transition to establish its own standalone technology environment following a long-standing shared-services arrangement. This is a high-priority program with strong executive sponsorship and a defined roadmap already underway.
  
ABOUT THE ROLE
  
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of IT will lead delivery of a major technology separation program and establish a secure, stable standalone operating model.
  
The immediate priority is execution, working across infrastructure, applications, identity, security, licensing and vendor partners while maintaining continuity of critical systems. Following separation, the role will lead stabilisation and improvement of the organisation’s technology environment.

KEY RESPRONSIBILITIES
  • Lead delivery of a major technology separation program -Establish a standalone infrastructure, applications and service environment following a long-standing shared-services arrangement.
  • Stand up the organisation’s independent IT operating model -Build internal capability across infrastructure, identity, security, licensing and support services while maintaining continuity of business-critical systems.
  • Manage external delivery partners and technology vendors - Oversee advisory and implementation partners and ensure strong performance across key commercial technology arrangements.
  • Strengthen technology governance, risk and cybersecurity oversight - Provide clear executive visibility of risk, controls, service performance and investment priorities.
  • Lead and develop the internal IT function through transition and stabilisation - Support staff transitioning into the organisation and drive capability uplift following separation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated experience delivering a technology separation, demerger or shared-services exit program, with 
    proven experience establishing a standalone infrastructure and service environment following a carve-out or operating model transition.
  • Senior leadership accountability across enterprise IT environments and a track record leading infrastructure, applications and service delivery functions with responsibility for operational performance and outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership across complex organisational environments, experience maintaining alignment across multiple stakeholders during large-scale transition programs.
  • Experience managing external delivery partners and technology vendors, with proven oversight of advisory partners, implementation vendors and commercial technology arrangements during major technology initiatives.
