About the Role
  
The Governance and Executive Support Officer supports the team in delivering strong governance, strategic planning and effective organisational operations. The role provides high‑quality support to the Board and Senior Leadership Team, contributes to risk, compliance and complaints management, and assists with strategy, business planning and the improvement of business processes to ensure Common Equity operates efficiently and in line with best practice.
  
What You’ll Do
  • Provide high‑level governance support to the Board, CEO and Senior Leadership Team, including preparing agendas and papers, drafting briefings, recording accurate minutes and coordinating actions and key governance events.
  • Maintain and continuously improve governance processes, policies and documentation to ensure they remain contemporary, accessible and fit‑for‑purpose.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of effective risk management systems, registers, calendars and reporting to support organisational oversight.
  • Support the organisation’s compliance framework, including WHS, HR and legislative monitoring, leading the annual NRSCH registration process and maintaining compliance and reporting calendars.
  • Oversee the organisation’s complaints management framework, ensuring consistent processes, timely responses and analysis of complaints data to support continuous improvement.
About You
  • Relevant degree/professional qualification including GIA, or other post graduate governance credentials
  • Strong governance experience, for e.g. Board support, board reporting, company-secretariat duties
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Board-level or Senior Leadership Team (SLT) stakeholders, with the confidence to engage, liaise, and manage upwards effectively
  • Demonstrated professional minute-taking skills essential
  • Experience in risk management and/or compliance processes highly desirable
  • Experience in designing and implementing frameworks, policies and processes highly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
