This role involves setting up and operating test apparatus to evaluate electronic circuit card assemblies (CCAs), RF circuits, and subassemblies. The technician works from methods, procedures, engineering drawings, and schematics, troubleshooting and repairing at the component level, adjusting and calibrating systems, and documenting test results. Candidates may assist engineers in developing test procedures and improving manufacturing processes.

Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM EST


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up test apparatus and conduct tests on electronic assemblies, RF circuits, and subassemblies according to procedures, standards, and sequences.

  • Troubleshoot and repair solid-state and digital circuitry at the component level.

  • Adjust, calibrate, or repair electronic assembly systems as required, replacing components when necessary.

  • Operate hand tools, small power tools, and test/measurement devices such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, and signal generators.

  • Approve, recommend, or modify test procedures and equipment to improve testing and product performance.

  • Assist engineers with design and development of new test procedures and recommend manufacturing or product improvements.

  • Document test results and maintenance actions accurately using Microsoft Suite or other data collection software.

  • Support vibration and thermal ESS testing for CCAs and subassemblies (desired).

  • Perform RF troubleshooting and flying probe testing (desired).

  • Maintain high production output in a dynamic manufacturing environment while following quality procedures and statistical process controls.


Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of direct electronics testing experience.

  • Proficient in component-level troubleshooting of solid-state and digital circuits.

  • Able to use Microsoft Suite and other data collection programs for documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of solid-state devices, micro-circuitry, and electronic assemblies.

  • Must read and write English.


Desired Skills / Preferred Experience

  • Experience with RF circuits troubleshooting.

  • Flying Probe / High Power Test experience.

  • Vibration and thermal ESS experience of CCAs and subassemblies.

  • Military "backshop” experience repairing and troubleshooting electronics is a plus.


Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Additional technical training equivalent to an Associate degree or demonstrated ability to perform technical/para-engineering tasks.
