Senior Financial Accountant | Temp-to-Perm | $70/hr + Super

Sydney CBD | Hybrid Working | 2-Month Contract with potential for conversion to Perm

We're partnering with a well-known Australian tourism and hospitality group to find a Senior Financial Accountant for an initial 2-month contract.. Based at their Sydney corporate office, you'll join a collaborative finance team supporting a portfolio of iconic destinations.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Resort Finance, you'll be a key contributor across month-end, reporting, and financial analysis — liaising with both finance and operational teams across multiple sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end journal preparation and processing (inventory, Cost of Sales, Opex)
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Capex project accounting and monthly reporting
  • Weekly bank journal review and resolution of operational queries
  • Oversight of commercial lease and tour operator commission billings, including annual audit management
  • Internal and external audit support and statutory reporting
  • Financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Forecasting and budgeting support
  • Mentoring junior finance team members

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or higher)
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience coaching or supervising team members
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel
  • Excellent communicator — comfortable working with both finance and operational stakeholders
  • Hospitality or tourism industry experience highly regarded
