Interim Controller

THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

• A fast-paced construction and land development organization with continued growth across multiple related entities
• A finance and accounting team supporting project-based operations, construction services, land development, and shared services accounting
• A highly visible accounting function working directly with the VP of Accounting and CFO

• A team looking for an experienced accounting leader who can step in quickly, stabilize workflow, and create immediate value

LOCATION

• Onsite 5 days in Charlotte, NC, supporting the accounting leadership team directly

• The position will support month-end close, financial reporting, accounting operations, and day-to-day accounting workflow
• This person will help maintain accuracy, continuity, and responsiveness during a period of team transition

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

• Progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within construction, real estate, land development, homebuilding, sitework, or another project-based environment
• Strong QuickBooks experience required, with QuickBooks Enterprise experience especially helpful
• CPA preferred, but not required for the right interim accounting leader
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, AP, AR, billing, bank reconciliations, and cash management
• Comfortable working independently, learning quickly, and jumping into a fast-paced environment with limited ramp-up time
• Strong Excel skills and experience with systems such as Smartsheet, BuildPro, Brixx, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar accounting and project management tools preferred
• Overachiever mindset, strong attention to detail, and ability to bring calm, accuracy, and accountability to a changing accounting environment
