The Position
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role supporting the day-to-day finance operations and month-end processes. Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with end-of-month close processes
- General ledger reconciliations, journals and accruals
- Maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed asset register
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Providing back-up support across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS and GST reporting
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting tasks and reporting requirements
- Assisting with process improvement and ensuring accuracy across financial data
To be successful in this role you will be a hands-on and adaptable accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will bring:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Degree qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards completion)
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation, BAS/GST and financial compliance requirements
- Strong systems and Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive and can-do attitude with the ability to learn quickly and support the wider team where needed
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously when required
