Technical Accounting Consultant (PPE / ASC 360)

THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

• You will be joining AccruePartners’ Project Solutions practice and supporting a leading renewable energy organization undergoing a complex finance transformation and post-ERP stabilization initiative.
• The client is actively working through NetSuite remediation and enhancement efforts following a Phase 1 GL-focused go-live, while simultaneously preparing for additional system modernization tied to accounting operations, revenue recognition, and trading platform integration.
• The accounting organization is operating in a highly dynamic environment that includes ongoing audit remediation, evolving accounting processes, compressed close timelines, and enterprise-wide process stabilization initiatives extending through early 2027.
• Leadership is seeking hands-on technical accounting consultants who can immediately contribute within an execution-focused environment where speed, accountability, and technical depth are critical.

LOCATION

• Remote flexibility available with preference for consultants aligned to Eastern Time operations.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

• The client is operating within a fixed 4-calendar-day close while simultaneously managing active audit remediation efforts, ERP enhancements, and implementation of a new ETRM trading platform impacting revenue and cash settlement processes.
• This engagement is focused on stabilizing core accounting operations while supporting broader transformation initiatives that require immediate hands-on execution support — not advisory-only consulting.
• The consultants must be capable of rolling up their sleeves, navigating ambiguity, and contributing immediately across GL close, consolidations, technical accounting research, accounting memo preparation, and remediation efforts within a SOX-controlled environment.
• The organization is specifically seeking consultants who have experience operating in evolving or semi-greenfield environments where processes are still being built, formalized, and stabilized — not simply maintaining mature accounting operations.
• Strong judgment, technical accounting depth, and the ability to make sound accounting conclusions in gray-area situations will be critical for success.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

• Strong hands-on Technical Accounting experience within complex corporate environments
• Direct PPE accounting experience under ASC 360
• Direct Lease Accounting experience under ASC 842
• Proven experience operating successfully within compressed close environments, ideally supporting a 4-day close
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos and documenting accounting conclusions
• Exposure to ERP implementations, NetSuite enhancements, or accounting system transformation initiatives
• Experience operating within SOX-controlled accounting environments
• Ability to execute independently with minimal onboarding and immediate contribution expectations
• Experience supporting accounting remediation, policy formalization, and process documentation efforts
• Strong understanding of GAAP application within complex operational environments
• Renewable energy, utilities, or broader energy industry experience strongly preferred
• Additional exposure to hedge accounting, derivative accounting, debt accounting, PPA reviews, or IFRS is highly valued
