Design & Build are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to lead the delivery of a new-build commercial construction project in Bundaberg. This is an 8-month contract role, ideal for a hands-on construction professional who thrives in managing site operations, coordinating trades, and ensuring high-quality project delivery on time and within budget.
You will be responsible for day-to-day site management, ensuring safety compliance, driving program milestones, and maintaining strong communication between subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through to completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
- Ensure compliance with WHS regulations and company safety standards
- Monitor project schedule, budget, and quality control
- Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to drawings and specifications
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and consultants
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and progress updates
- Proactively identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
- Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and safe work practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving ability
- Relevant trade background or construction qualification (preferred but not essential)
- QBCC License (Essential)
- Current White Card (required)
- 8-month contract with competitive hourly or daily rates on offer
