Electrical Designer (BIM)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer (BIM) to support a large-scale Data Center project in the Birmingham, AL area. This role will support both pre-construction and construction phases, working closely with engineering and project teams to develop and execute electrical design deliverables.

This position will begin with approximately 3 months in an office environment during pre-construction, followed by 7 months onsite in the field during construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and support electrical designs using BIM tools for data center infrastructure

• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project teams during both design and execution phases

• Assist with pre-construction planning, layout, and coordination

• Support field execution during construction, including design adjustments and issue resolution

• Interpret and apply electrical drawings, specifications, and project requirements

• Ensure designs align with project schedules, safety standards, and quality expectations

Qualifications:

• Experience as an Electrical Designer using BIM (Revit preferred)

• Prior experience supporting data center, industrial, or large-scale construction projects strongly preferred

• Ability to work both in an office environment and onsite in the field

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, layouts, and construction coordination

• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment

• Must be willing to work onsite in Birmingham, AL (no remote option)

• Position will transition from office to field environment

• Project-based role with defined timeline

Preferred (Nice to Have):

• Data center project experience

• Experience working on design-build or EPC projects

• Familiarity with construction-phase support and field coordination
