Our client is seeking a commercially astute and people-focused Regional General Manager to lead a complex, high-performing pathology services operation. This role sits at senior leadership level and will play a critical part in operational performance, strategic growth, stakeholder engagement, workforce leadership, and service excellence across the region.
This is far more than a traditional operations role. You will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams, driving regional strategy, strengthening key health sector relationships, and ensuring services remain clinically safe, financially sustainable, and operationally exceptional.

What you will be responsible for:
- Leading regional pathology operations across a large and complex healthcare network
- Driving operational performance, service delivery, and continuous improvement
- Full regional P&L accountability and financial oversight
- Building strong relationships with Health NZ, hospitals, clinicians, and key healthcare stakeholders
- Leading and developing senior operational leaders and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting strategic growth opportunities across both public and private healthcare sectors
- Championing quality, safety, innovation, and organisational culture
- Senior healthcare leadership experience with proven GM-level capability
- Minimum 10 years’ general management experience
- Strong background in pathology management specifically
- Deep understanding of the community pathology sector
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills
- Commercially minded with strong operational and financial capability
- Relevant health-related and/or business qualifications highly regarded
- Executive-level healthcare leadership role
