Senior Piping Designer (S3D)

Position Overview

The Senior Piping Designer will lead and support the development of complex piping system layouts and design packages using 3D modeling software. This role will work closely with engineering, construction, and vendor teams to deliver high-quality designs from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for piping systems and equipment layouts
• Prepare full design packages including conceptual, preliminary, and IFC deliverables
• Generate and review isometrics, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and fabrication drawings
• Perform equipment and piping layout from PFDs and P&IDs
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance
• Coordinate with stress engineers, pipe support teams, vendors, and construction
• Support development of BOMs, material take-offs, and procurement lists
• Lead or support drafting teams and occasionally serve as a Project Lead or Checker

Qualifications

• 10+ years of piping design / drafting experience
• Strong experience with SmartPlant 3D (S3D) and/or PDMS / Aveva E3D
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Experience with onshore plant design (refining, petrochemical, gas processing)
• Strong background in mechanical layouts, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and skid/package design
• Ability to develop designs from concept (PFD/P&ID) through construction
• Experience working with 2D and 3D drawings, model space, and drafting standards
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
