We are looking for an experienced Scientist to design and develop experimental studies and create associated study protocols in support of investigations and troubleshooting of both products or processes and product or process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Technical Support Scientist II (MTS Scientist II), you will investigate product performance issues through experimental studies, identify the root cause, and develop and verify effective solutions. This includes creating the appropriate documentation in support of the studies and implementation of the solutions via change control process. You will also provide expertise and leadership to cross-functional teams in the development of new products/processes, and the troubleshooting of existing products/process in regard to design change and change control.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing appropriate scientific studies with sound rationale and managing their execution
- Creating plans, protocols and reports in support of studies
- Coordinating the execution of the study protocol, inclusive of scheduling of appropriate personnel, equipment, and materials through associated or impacted department managers performing data analysis utilizing appropriate statistical tools and methods and formulating conclusions
- Providing input and guidance for tech transfers to manufacturing, inclusive of participating in the development of manufacturing plans
Qualifications
In this Manufacturing Technical Support Scientist II (MTS Scientist II) role, you must be able to work well independently as well as in a team. You will be the leader of small project teams, so strong leadership, effective communication, and good presentation skills are essential. The requirements below outline what else you will need to be successful in this role.
Requirements:
- Bachelors' degree with relevant work experience in molecular assays or product development

Masters' degree, preferred

- Minimum 7 years' experience in biotech industry (medical device) with preference placed in reagent based diagnostics, immunoassay development, etc.
- Six Sigma Green Belt (DMAIC or DFSS), preferred
- Strong technical writing skills, data analysis and interpretation, and data presentation
- Proficiency in MS Excel and statistical software (Minitab, Jump, etc.), with strong statistical background, a must
