URGENT - Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant | ANZ Ownership | Global Business | Hybrid up to 130K + Super

The Opportunity This is a key position within a lean and high-performing finance team, where you will take full ownership of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance across Australia and New Zealand.

You will work closely with local leadership, global finance teams, and external advisors, playing a critical role in ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and continuous improvement across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end month-end close and reporting for ANZ
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required
• Assist with cashflow forecasting and intercompany processes
• Review balance sheet accounts and proactively resolve issues
• Prepare journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting packs
• Lead statutory reporting, audit processes, and compliance activities
• Manage tax obligations including GST, BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and corporate tax
• Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and global finance teams
• Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations
• Support internal controls, policy compliance, and reporting accuracy
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements (including ERP optimisation)
• Contribute to group reporting requirements and regional finance initiatives

About You

• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong technical accounting and tax experience across Australian compliance
• Background within FMCG, Pharma-healthcare, medical devices are highly regarded
• Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP highly preferred)
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders locally and internationally
• Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a lean team environment
• Solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
