About the role
This is a relationship and events focused fundraising role with a strong emphasis on increased giving. We are seeking a Development Officer, ideally suited to someone with a specialist background in philanthropy.
You will manage a portfolio of donors, with a focus on re-engaging existing supporters and converting new donors. A key part of the role is confidently ‘making the ask’ and building long-term relationships.

About the role
This is a relationship and events focused fundraising role with a strong emphasis on increased giving. We are seeking a Development Officer, ideally suited to someone with a specialist background in philanthropy.
You will manage a portfolio of donors, with a focus on re-engaging existing supporters and converting new donors. A key part of the role is confidently ‘making the ask’ and building long-term relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and manage a portfolio of mid-tier donors ($2k–$6k giving range)
- Re-engage alumni and existing donors through proactive outreach
- Lead coordination of key supporter events, develop invitation lists, coordinate logistics and panel speakers and ensure smooth on-the-day delivery with support from the events team
- Confidently lead donor conversations and make clear, well-timed fundraising asks
- Act as a visible ambassador for Bond University at events and networking opportunities
- Build and maintain strong sponsor and partner relationships
- Support fundraising appeals, including targeted campaigns and scholarship initiatives
- Maintain accurate donor records within CRM systems
About you

You will bring:
- Proven ability to build rapport and network effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Confidence to attend events and represent the organisation in public-facing settings
- Experience in making asks, or leading ‘sales’ minded conversations to secure outcomes
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to initiate conversations and follow through
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
- Experience using a CRM (Raiser’s Edge or similar desirable)
- Experience in higher education or not-for-profit fundraising
- Exposure to appeals, business development, donor cultivation or event delivery
- Relevant degree (preferred but not essential)
- Salary circa $83,210–$85,707 + 12% super
- One day per week work from home (team is largely onsite)
