Our client, a leading foundation contractor specializing in deep foundations, ground improvement, and excavation support systems, is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team in Odessa, FL. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering professional looking to develop their skills in geotechnical and structural design within the foundation construction industry.
As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing foundation systems, preparing engineering submittals, and supporting project teams from pre-construction through execution. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and Ground Improvement Manager, contributing to innovative foundation solutions for high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Design & Engineering Support:
- Develop designs and value-engineering solutions for deep foundations (drilled shafts, ACIP, DDP, etc.).
- Perform ground improvement design, including vibro-compaction and vibro-replacement.
- Conduct trench stability analyses and design excavation support systems.
- Design work platforms and provide site guidance on best practices.
- Analyze load test data and maintain project databases.
🔹 Project Coordination & Documentation:
- Support project teams with pre-construction and close-out submittals.
- Lead the preparation of shop drawings (e.g., DSM, CSM, jet grout layouts, rebar cages).
- Develop as-built drawings to document completed projects.
Qualifications:
✅ B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
✅ Minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical or structural design.
✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
✅ Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
✅ Ability to collaborate with project teams and contribute to a positive team environment.
- P.E. license or Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering.
- Experience in geo-structural design.
