Residential Insurance Estimator (Lorton, VA)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in assessing damages, estimating costs, and preparing accurate project proposals for insurance claims. Your expertise in Xactimate software will be instrumental in providing accurate and comprehensive estimates to support the restoration process.

Responsibilities:
1. Damage Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections of properties to assess damages caused by fire, water, storms, or other incidents. Identify and document the extent of structural damage, materials affected, and necessary repairs or replacements.
2. Cost Estimation: Utilize Xactimate software to create detailed and accurate cost estimates for restoration and reconstruction projects. Consider factors such as labor, materials, permits, equipment, and subcontractor services.
3. Insurance Claims: Work closely with insurance adjusters, clients, and internal teams to understand insurance policies, claim requirements, and coverage limitations. Prepare comprehensive estimates that align with insurance guidelines and industry standards.
4. Proposal Preparation: Generate detailed project proposals based on the estimated costs, scope of work, and project timelines. Clearly communicate the proposed plan to clients, addressing their concerns and answering questions related to the restoration process.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, construction crews, and subcontractors, to gather accurate information and ensure alignment between estimates and project execution. Provide ongoing support and clarification during the restoration process.
6. Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of project details, including photographs, measurements, materials used, and any additional relevant information. Update and revise estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing of materials, and local building codes to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates. Apply best practices in estimating and restoration techniques to deliver high-quality work.
8. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders involved in the restoration process.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or professional training in estimating and Xactimate software are highly desirable.
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the insurance restoration construction industry.
• Proficiency in Xactimate software is essential. Demonstrated ability to create accurate estimates and navigate the software effectively.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and restoration techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess damages and develop cost estimates in a timely manner.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and insurance adjusters.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
