Position Overview:
Aequor Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to work at the California State Prison in Corcoran, CA. This is a Corrections setting where you’ll support clinical staff by assisting with patient care, performing basic medical procedures, and managing administrative tasks in a structured correctional healthcare environment, helping address the medical, mental health, and chronic care needs of incarcerated patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed healthcare staff, including assisting with basic clinical procedures and routine patient support
  • Prepare patients for exams and treatments, obtain vital signs, and document medical information accurately in patient records
  • Assist with medication administration support, specimen collection, and ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared
  • Follow correctional facility protocols while coordinating with nursing and custody staff to maintain a safe, secure, and efficient healthcare environment
