Experienced Speech Pathologist required for this publicly funded community service in the Northern Territory. You will join a team of allied health clinicians and cover the following caseload:
Mostly paediatric communication cases, outpatients in the clinic and outreach to remote communities. The region is quite diverse in its population with high migrant population and high proportion of Aboriginal people. They work on a transdisciplinary model so generally two disciplines work together and travel together (eg SP and OT, OT and PT etc). Some adults but prioritising paeds. There is a paediatric inpatients and paediatric feeding/swallowing outpatient service however, this caseload is negotiable and not essential to the locum role.
There will also be a requirement to cover the hospital acute Speech Pathology role during periods of leave/shortages.
- The role involves occasional travelling to remote communities in the Big Rivers region by 4WD or light aircraft, staying overnight during weekdays.
- Join a team of 2 OTs, 1 Physio, 2 Public Health Dietitians, 1 Allied Health Assistant, 1 Team Leader
- April start for three months + possible extension
