Typical work day is 8am-6pm +/-.
There is no ER in an LTACH, so any/all admissions are pre-scheduled. They average about 2 or 3 admits per day.
Patients in an LTACH setting are sent there from short term acute care hospitals and this environment is almost a lateral move from the ICU setting.
Physicans should have good hospitalist skills including some vent management. No intubations (they are done by the resp. tech's).
NO Nights, NO call- strictly 7 on / off lifestyle is hard to beat in this environment. Earn 240K +.
