Technical Officer – Food Safety & Quality

Location: Dublin
(Commutable from Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin, Ballyfermot, Tallaght, Citywest, Drimnagh, Dublin City Centre, Naas, Celbridge, Maynooth & surrounding areas)

A modern and fast-growing food manufacturing business in Dublin is seeking a Technical Officer – Food Safety & Quality to join its technical team. This is a hands-on role in a high-paced production environment, supporting food safety, quality systems, and compliance across site operations.

The Role

Reporting into the Quality Manager , you will play a key role in maintaining and improving food safety and quality standards across the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading site food safety and quality compliance activities
  • Managing HACCP systems, GMP, and prerequisite programmes
  • Supporting and maintaining food safety plans and risk-based controls
  • Managing internal audits against BRCGS, Bord Bia and DAFM standards
  • Supporting TACCP / VACCP and quality culture initiatives
  • Assisting with third-party audits and inspections
  • Handling customer complaints, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Monitoring KPIs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Delivering training on food safety, quality systems and SOPs
  • Supporting sustainability and Origin Green compliance requirements
  • Working closely with production and quality teams on day-to-day standards

The Candidate

  • Degree in Food Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing quality/technical roles
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and Bord Bia standards
  • Experience supporting or managing external audits
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
