Division Manager

The opportunity 
Redpath Partners are representing superb leadership opportunity with a civil contractor known for exceptional standards and efficient processes. The position will be to head up their drainage division which consist of two crews working across a varied portfolio of work across the Central Lakes region.

You will oversee the end-to-end operation, with responsibility for multiple projects and the division financials. You'll be working directly with the business owner and be part of the senior leadership team. 

Your expertise will be critical in planning, executing, and delivering complex works while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will be involved in developing strategic growth plans and building on a culture of continuous improvement.

This will suit a driven individual who has previous experience leading teams and wants to take ownership of their own division within a growing business with a high performing culture.  

The responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Lead and manage the division’s operations, including project delivery, resource allocation, and contract management. 
• Financial Management: Develop and oversee division budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures. 
• Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage project managers, supervisors, and staff. Foster a high-performance team environment, supporting professional growth and skill development.
• Business Growth & Strategy: Contribute to tendering and bidding processes and develop strategic growth initiatives. 
• HSE Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring to uphold industry regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits, training, and incident investigations.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for project quality, ensuring all work meets contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. 
• Reporting & Administration: Provide accurate, timely reports on project status, financial performance, and operational metrics. Support continuous process improvements within the division.

 
The requirements

• Proven experience in civil construction with a strong project track record 
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge of NZ standards, health and safety legislation, and environmental practices
• Be a strong leader who can effectively communicate with stakeholders and staff
• Proficiency in project management software and financial reporting tools
