Training Specialist III

Remote (occasional site visits in Irwindale, CA)

Duration: initial 12-month contract

Pay: $34-39/hr




Responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, and evaluating comprehensive training programs and learning solutions that support organizational and workforce development goals. This role requires the ability to communicate complex technical and non-technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of learning programs, including needs assessment, design, development, pilot delivery, implementation, and post-training evaluation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), senior stakeholders, HR partners, and external vendors.
  • Design and develop blended learning solutions using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop), Captivate, Articulate, Dreamweaver, Presenter, Engage, Quizmaker, SnagIt, and web conferencing platforms or equivalent technologies.
  • Provide operational, administrative, and logistical support for training and organizational effectiveness (OE) initiatives.
  • Prepare, organize, and edit course materials while ensuring compliance with corporate, technical, and security standards.
  • Schedule and coordinate courses, manage classroom logistics, and support instructors, participants, and SMEs during delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using participant feedback, observations, and performance data; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Ensure adequate course enrollment through communication, promotion, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Support classroom, virtual, and hybrid learning environments by operating and troubleshooting learning technologies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance training processes, tools, and delivery methods.
  • Maintain strong documentation practices and ensure all learning assets are current and compliant.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities for shared learning and process improvement; may mentor junior team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience applying job task analysis to develop training content and performance assessments.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and rapid development using learning technologies.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible learning materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in training development, instructional design, or learning delivery.
  • Experience designing craft apprenticeship or structured on-the-job training (OJT) programs.
  • Familiarity with corporate workforce development initiatives and large-scale training programs.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating training effectiveness and recommending improvements.
  • Experience working with aerospace, manufacturing, or technical training environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster strong partnerships across HR, operations, leadership, and vendor teams.
