Our client is a fast-growing food ingredient and innovation business seeking a commercially minded Financial Accountant to join their finance team and support the next phase of growth.
This is a hands-on opportunity suited to someone who enjoys working in a dynamic FMCG/manufacturing environment and partnering closely with leadership teams to drive financial performance and operational decision-making.
You will play a key role across month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and commercial analysis, while helping strengthen financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities across the business.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Manage and oversee the end-to-end month-end close process
• Prepare management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
• Build and maintain annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Deliver meaningful commercial insights and financial analysis to support business decisions
• Conduct detailed analysis of P&L and balance sheet accounts to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Support preparation of board packs and leadership reporting

Commercial & Operational Finance

• Deliver margin analysis across products, customers, and sales channels
• Monitor AR ageing, cash allocation, bad debt provisioning, and trade spend impacts
• Partner with Sales Finance and key stakeholders to resolve commercial accounting matters including returns, reversals, and bad debt
• Manage working capital, cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes

Compliance & Controls

• Manage BAS/GST, excise obligations, and tax compliance requirements
• Coordinate statutory reporting requirements with external accountants and auditors
• Support external audit processes and ensure timely completion of audit requests
• Partner with stakeholders to strengthen internal controls and remediate audit findings

Systems & Process Improvement

• Maintain integrity of accounting systems and support system integrations across the business
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting
• Utilise Oracle NetSuite to support financial operations and reporting

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• CA qualified
• 5–7 years’ accounting experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
• Advanced experience with Oracle NetSuite (essential)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Australian Citizenship (required)
