International energy and services organisation, active across numerous sectors, requires an Electrical Design Engineer (with interest, knowledge and experience of decarbonisation / low carbon engineering) to join their growing Carbon Shift team.
This area of the business focuses on delivering net zero and climate action plans across EV, facilities management, regeneration, decarbonisation, renewable energy and smart buildings. Having built up a high level of expertise, as well as a large client base in the area of energy transition and net zero, they wish to expand their service offering and enlarge their team.
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for renewable heat and power schemes, with a focus on the design and development of commercial / utility scale renewable electrical and heat projects. Duties will include:

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for renewable heat and power schemes, with a focus on the design and development of commercial / utility scale renewable electrical and heat projects. Duties will include:
- Prepare electrical designs for retrofit decarbonisation schemes and new build energy centres
- Perform electrical load assessments and sizing of switchgear and general distribution systems and equipment
- Carry out engineering calculations
- Use industry software, such as Dialux, PVSyst, AutoCAD and Revit
- Liaise with mechanical and structural / civil design engineers and BIM specialists
- Identify and assess for suitability relevant emerging technology and innovation in design
- Assist with the tendering process
- Process DNO applications
- Contribute to design reports and other documents
- Carry out design risk assessments, to identify and minimise SHEQ risks with design
- Ensure electrical designs comply with industry standards and safety legislation
Requirements:
- Previous experience in low voltage / LV electrical building services design, including schematics and single line diagrams (SLD), lighting, small power, LV distribution
- Strong understanding of British Standards and BS:7671
- Awareness of CDM regulations
- Experience liaising with various internal and external stakeholders
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit etc
- Excellent communication skills
