Senior Project Engineer

Design & Build are excited to be bringing to market a unique opportunity. We are currently representing a national builder as they begin building their first ever South Australia project team. With their first project coming up, a $150m build in the northern suburbs, they are seeking an experience Senior Project Engineer. The existing project team is comprised of a Senior PM, Senior Site Manager, Senior CA, and HSE Advisor, and will have further support from senior leadership interstate. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead planning, design, and technical coordination across allocated packages
• Manage subcontractor performance, scope, and program delivery
• Oversee procurement strategies and contribute to tender evaluations
• Monitor project progress, cost control, risk, and change management
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and development to Project Engineers and Site Engineers
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability are consistently achieved
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders

   
To be successful in this key role, you must have:    

• Ideally 8+ years’ experience in the construction industry, preferably on large-scale building projects
• Proven experience delivering complex commercial, defence, health, education, or major building projects
• Strong stakeholder engagement and subcontractor management capability
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
