Our client is a large, globally connected organisation operating in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement and collaboration. They are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team on a 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their accounting experience in a hands-on role with exposure across month-end, reporting and operational finance.
About the Role
Reporting to a senior member of the finance team, you’ll play an important role supporting daily finance operations and assisting with month-end activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with month-end close activities, journal preparation and account reconciliations
- Managing daily bank reconciliations
- Processing and reconciling company credit cards, travel expenses and staff reimbursements
- Maintaining fixed asset registers including additions, disposals and depreciation schedules
- Supporting financial reporting and analysis activities
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements as required

- Salary package of $85,000 – $90,000 + Super

About You
You will ideally bring
- Previous experience in an Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar accounting role
- Strong reconciliation experience across bank accounts and transactional finance processes
- Exposure to month-end activities including journals and reporting support
- Experience managing expenses, credit card reconciliations or fixed assets will be highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working within finance systems
- A proactive approach and willingness to support across the broader finance function
