THE OPPORTUNITY
The Financial Controller is a crucial role who serves as the primary source of financial guidance inside the organization. You support the budget managers' ability to have a comprehensive financial understanding and oversight of their areas of responsibility to enable decision making at a strategic level.
This flexible hybrid position, which is based in the CBD, offers the chance to work from home 1-2 days a week.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the Finance team
- Developing and progressing the careers of the Finance team of 4
- Providing commercial acumen and support across all business units
- ASX reporting requirements - Prepare monthly, semi-annually, and annually financial and management reports with insights, analysis, and commentary.
- Coordinate the Annual Budget process and regular reforecasting with budget holders.
- Manage preparation and submission of tax returns, liaising with tax advisers.
- Co-ordinate the annual insurance renewal process.
- Develop financial literacy within other departments and team.
- Identify opportunities for financial performance and process improvement and implementing plans for change.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates with:
- A CA qualification, and good knowledge of relevant accounting standards and tax compliance.
- Experience in financial operations and internal controls in a mid-size or large commercial business.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- A friendly, flexible, and customer-focused demeanor
- Possess a forward-thinking mindset, be able to tackle current issues and change business procedures with other Senior Leadership
Salary Package: $115k + benefits
