About the role
Join a highly regarded General Insurance practice within a leading national law firm, working across a diverse mix of casualty and professional indemnity matters. You’ll work on an interesting and broad mix of casualty and professional indemnity claims, specialising in the provision of coverage and risk management advice, and the defence of public liability, product liability, professional indemnity and third‑party property damage claims, as well as statutory claims brought by workers and the Victorian WorkCover Authority.

What you'll be doing
  1. Advising on a broad range of general insurance matters across public liability, property damage, professional indemnity, product liability and statutory liability claims
  2. Providing coverage advice and risk management support to insurers and corporate clients
  3. Managing your own file load with autonomy, while supervising and delegating to junior lawyers
  4. Working closely with Partners on complex claims to deepen your expertise
  5. Building and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives  
What we're looking for
  1. 4+ years’ PAE in insurance law/litigation and/or commercial dispute resolution
  2. Background in defence work and providing coverage advice
  3. Ability to manage files autonomously while effectively delegating tasks
  4. Excellent drafting skills with the ability to communicate clearly in plain English
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and confidence dealing with clients, insurers and courts
  6. A proactive, “can-do” attitude and a collaborative team mindset
  7. Genuine interest in developing your career within the insurance sector
