Senior Manager – Digital Platforms & Applications

About the company:

This leading WA organisation plays a key role in delivering digital services that support the community. The organisation is currently undergoing a significant transformation, creating an opportunity for an experienced leader to provide stability and delivery oversight across its application landscape during this period.

The role:

We are seeking a Senior Manager Application Development on a contract basis through to 30 June 2027 (with possible extension).
This role is suited to a strong people and delivery leader rather than a hands-on technical specialist. You will lead an established internal team, ensuring consistent delivery, stakeholder confidence, and operational stability while the broader organisation focuses on parallel transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and engage an established internal applications team
• Ensure stable BAU operations and reliable delivery outcomes
• Run agile ceremonies and partner with product teams to translate requirements into high-quality JIRA user stories
• Oversee delivery across multiple platforms, including corporate and Healthway website re-platforming initiatives
• Manage prioritisation, risks, and dependencies across workstreams
• Maintain stakeholder confidence through clear communication and delivery transparency
• Support a largely stable core platform with limited changes (except critical updates)

Key experience:

• Proven experience in a senior applications or engineering leadership role
• Strong people leadership capability, with a focus on team engagement and performance
• Demonstrated success managing delivery in Agile environments
• Experience working closely with product teams and translating business requirements into delivery outcomes
• Strong oversight of operational stability, risk management, and prioritisation
• Solid technical background across modern web stacks (React, TypeScript, Python, AWS environments)

Desirable experience:

• Experience in government or highly structured environments
• Exposure to CMS platforms such as Sanity
• Experience leading teams through periods of organisational change or transition
• Familiarity with environments where platforms are stabilised or frozen with parallel delivery streams
