A Health & Safety Lead is required to oversee and enhance workplace safety, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation, environmental regulations, and food-grade manufacturing standards. The role drives a proactive safety culture, implements continuous improvements, and leads safety initiatives across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).

  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

  • Deliver and coordinate safety training, including LOTO, chemical handling, and emergency procedures.

  • Maintain safety documentation, SOPs, and risk registers.

  • Lead safety committees, emergency drills, and employee safety engagement programs.

  • Track, report, and improve safety KPIs using data-driven approaches.

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure safe, compliant processes.

Requirements:

  • Occupational Health & Safety qualification.

  • 2–5 year's experience in manufacturing H&S role.

  • Strong knowledge of Irish H&S legislation, environmental regulations, and best practices.

  • Experience with risk assessments, incident investigation, and ISO 45001 audits.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office; advanced Excel skills an advantage.
