Senior Cyber Analyst

Initial contract through to June 2027
Hybrid working with 3 days per week in Brisbane CBD office
$95 - $105 + Super (dependant on experience)
Must be willing to proceed as PAYG

The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Senior Cyber Analyst to support a small, high-impact cyber security team delivering critical uplift across Essential 8 maturity, cyber security initiatives, and information security compliance. You will play a key role in strengthening the department’s security posture, supporting cyber funding submissions, and helping deliver practical outcomes across security operations, governance, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

The Role
In this role, you will work closely with technical specialists, ICT leaders, and senior stakeholders to deliver cyber security projects that improve resilience, compliance, and operational maturity.

• Lead and support cyber security projects from scope definition through to delivery
• Drive Essential 8 uplift initiatives across enterprise technology environments
• Support threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk remediation
• Assist with strategic and operational planning for security systems and infrastructure
• Manage project plans, budgets, stakeholders, risks, issues, and delivery timelines
• Ensure cyber initiatives align with relevant government security standards and frameworks

About You
You will bring a strong blend of cyber security capability, project delivery discipline, and the confidence to work independently in a small team environment.

• Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations, threat detection, and incident response
• Proven experience delivering complex IT or cyber security projects end-to-end
• Strong understanding of ACSC Essential Eight, IS18, and Queensland Government cyber frameworks
• Experience with tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, Sentinel, PAM, SOC, Zero Trust, and endpoint security
• Technical literacy across networking, infrastructure, remote access, cloud, and security controls
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, financial, procurement, and commercial management skills
